St. Fiacre Day 

David Gibson, historian and Director of Newstead House, again invited members of QCGC to join in the celebrations held during the weekend of Friday 25 to Sunday 27 August 2006.  

These three days marked the 160th year since the construction of Newstead House, and also heralded the arrival of spring.  St Fiacre day is the traditional day of homage to the Patron Saint of Gardeners, and was celebrated this year on 27 August.

Members of QCGC filled the rooms of historic Newstead House with floral arrangements, recreating the atmosphere and elegance of the past.
